My Intentions You Bless  (written 9/02)

Take off on the gravel road up the mountain

Travelled by loggers and lonely folk

Up and up to the top of the winding cliffside road

Up to the garden where you grow

And swing out of the night

And into the dancing sunlight

And speak your right

Sing through my voice with all your might

Your words come through like fire

Awake and alive, you are no liar

You speak the truth of feeling and knowing love

You teach me the grace hovering above

She said, there will always be a light on your path

And there will never be much loneliness

Cause there is always hope in togetherness

My intentions you bless

And then you appear and you land right in his hand

Just to let him know you understand

And you spread across the land

And enter the spirit of man

Looking into your eyes of later

He’s beautiful, you’ve taught him well

I see forever and I’ve never seen forever

Only the stars will tell

And then you disappear right into thin air

To let him know you’re always there

To hold him and tell us you care

And remind us to unload the burden that we bare
