Jealous Spring – (written 10/97)
I saw the light
Underneath the crack in the doorway
Your footsteps walk inside my head
You tip-toed quietly
So I wouldn’t have to see
Your heart is dead
The blue became bright
And the sun set to rise
Upon my bed
Loud screams of time
In the distance wind
Let it blow away
Let it blow away
What’s in your mind
What’s in your body
What’s in your heart
On this jealous spring day
What’s in your mouth
And what’s to come out of it
How can I sleep through
This pouring rain
My body rose up like a dead man
I’m still inside my dreams
I’m still asleep
I pulled the covers back
Over my head and pray my soul to keep
Darkness in bright light
Sometimes my mind it thinks too deep
And now I am driving blinded to the rainbows
In the sky
As tears they seep down
Chorus
